The Deer Family
Wild Dublin - The Deer Family
Inspired by the large deer population living in the Phoenix Park and the enchanting sights of bluebell covered forest floors ..The Deer Family was born.
There are a lot of whimsical details added to this one. Groups of mushrooms in various sizes including a few very large ones as view tower for a snail, moss covered tree trunk, a single bluebell on a rooftop and an other one barely visible in the beak of a flyaway bird. And probably my favourite is the crow helping herself to tufts of molting hair from the stag’s back using it to build a nest.
The scene is Suffolk street which has a character and history on it’s own. It was developed in the 1680s as a link to Grafton Street, which was not the popular shopping street we know today, it was more of a winding laneway linking Trinity College to St. Stephen’s Green, but as this route became more important and as Dame Street and the areas around the College began to develop, and with the new Church of St. Andrew it was felt that a new street linking Grafton Street to Dame Street and College Green was needed and so Suffolk Street was created. The street itself is likely named after the wealthy English landowner the Earl of Suffolk. @Dublintown.ie
